PORGE

PORGÉ is a UK streetwear label built on African heritage: cowries, coral beads, heavyweight fabric. The founder brought me in to set up their Shopify store, and the storefront they had was working against all of it. Alongside the setup I rebuilt the front end on the Atelier theme, section by section. The store is still private before launch, so I documented the work as a case study site: the brief, the design decisions, the system and every screen.

Product focus

What it does

A store redesign told as a style documentary, because the store itself can't be linked yet.

Problem

What it solves

The inherited storefront had weak hierarchy, dead space and imagery that fought itself, so a brand with a strong identity looked generic online.

Solution

How it works

Rebuild the storefront section by section around the brand's photography, then pull the shipped palette, type and shape language into a case study that shows each decision.

Developer notes

My read on it

Freelance client work. The inherited design was bad, so the job was to improve it, and I did that section by section instead of starting over. The split hero, the negative-space categories and a CTA carried entirely by a walking man are the parts I'm happiest with. They're up there with my best work, though not the best. The store stays private until the founder launches it.
